From a very basic ‘surf shack’ to a future-proofed family home.

Bought as an uninsulated, rough build with decent bones and a bonus restored train carriage.

Stage one of the renovation included moving the train carriage to allow for passive solar design and an extension of living space. In stage two the original part was redesigned to create a more functional, light filled space.

More north-facing windows. Double glazing, better insulation and sealing all the gaps.

The end result: an energy efficient home, allowing for multigenerational family living.
